Award of Excellence

1. This award is for council members who have performed distinguished, meritorious and special service as leaders in the ATA Social Studies Council or who have contributed significantly to social studies education in Alberta
2. More than one award of excellence may be given each year
3. Individuals may be nominated by any member, with nominations accompanied by letters of reference from two individuals.
4. Council board members shall vote on accepting each nomination for an award, a simple majority being required of the voting members of the board.
5. Awards of excellence will be in the form of engraved plaques.
6. Awards of excellence shall be announced at the annual conference and presented if the recipients are in attendance.
