ATASSC Conferences

Prior to the 2014 conference, it was determined by our full council board that a biennial conference would be held for council members.

2018 Grounded in Truth: Soaring With Knowledge

We are pleased to announce that your ATASSC is co-hosting our conference with the ATA FNMI Education Council (FNMIEC).

Additional Speaker note:

Phyllis Webstad

Phyllis went to the Mission for one school year in 1973/1974. She had just turned 6 years old. She lived with her grandmother on the Dog Creek reserve. Her granny had managed to buy her a new outfit to go to the Mission school - a shiny orange shirt.  When she got to the Mission, they stripped her, and took away her clothes, including the orange shirt!   September 30th has been declared Orange Shirt Day annually, in recognition of the harm the residential school system did to children's sense of self-esteem and well being, and as an affirmation of our commitment to ensure that everyone around us matters.
